Privacy policy

1. What this document covers

This policy explains what information the public site ednice.com, related landing pages and author/student dashboards collect, why it is needed and who may receive it. Use of the English sites is also covered by the Terms of use. Student use of the dashboard is also covered by the Student agreement.

2. Who is responsible

The controller of the site and platform is Ednice LLC, Office 2408, Mazaya Business Avenue BB2, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Other details are on the contacts page. For privacy questions write to info@ednice.com.

3. What we collect

On the public site and landing pages:

• technical visit data: IP address and the approximate location derived from it (country, region, city), device and browser type and version, page URL, referrer, request time;
• interface settings: chosen language and theme;
• the analytics consent level you chose and, with full consent, a device identifier, a derived hash of technical browser characteristics and on-page behaviour: scroll depth, active reading time, clicks, form submissions, pointer movement;
• information you send yourself via contact forms or email.

Author and student dashboards also process account, learning and payment data needed to run the platform: name and email, sign-in events, course progress, live-session attendance, and order status. We process this to provide the service, keep accounts secure, take payment as the author’s agent, and improve the product.

On the sign-in and sign-up forms we take technical signals into account to protect against automated registrations: the number of key presses and taps without their content, the time taken to fill in the form, the result of an automatic browser check and device parameters (screen, time zone, languages). This information is used only for security, is not linked to site analytics and does not require separate consent — it is the operator’s legitimate interest. Field values and typed text are not recorded.

4. Cookies and local storage

The site uses:

• ed_consent — chosen consent level; kept up to 1 year; path /; SameSite=Lax. Full table: Cookie and analytics policy;
• ed_locale — interface language; ednice-main-theme — theme in local storage after you switch it;
• _ed — device cookie for full analytics, only after consent; dashboard session cookies — for sign-in and security.

These tools keep the site working, remember settings and run analytics. Language and theme values are not sent to Ednice by themselves. You can change consent in cookie settings. Disabling cookies in the browser may limit some features.

5. Analytics

Server logs and first-party collection without external pixels or counters are used to diagnose and improve the site. Until you give full consent the browser sends only a page view: no _ed cookie, no technical fingerprint and no link between visits and a person; the IP address is stored truncated and the technical visit key expires each day and is never written to your browser. This rests on our legitimate interest in running the site, protecting it from automated requests and producing aggregate statistics. After “Accept” the service sets a device cookie, may use a technical fingerprint as a fallback for return visits and collects on-page behaviour: scroll, clicks, pointer movement and a click map. Page text and field values are not recorded.

Full analytics runs on your consent only; refusing does not limit access to the site or the dashboards. You can withdraw consent at any time in cookie settings — as easily as you gave it. Raw analytics events are kept for 90 days, anonymized aggregates indefinitely, and the record of your consent choice for 3 years as proof of that choice. 6. Sharing

Information may be shared with:

• hosting and infrastructure partners — to run the site and platform;
• the payment partner — when paying for an author’s product; full card numbers are not stored by the platform;
• email services — to deliver messages;
• the author or school — if you are a student and the data is needed to perform the contract with that seller;
• public authorities — only where and to the extent required by applicable law.

We do not sell personal data or share it for third-party advertising without a separate legal basis.

7. Confidentiality and security

Access to non-public information is restricted. We use access control, encrypted connections and other measures proportionate to the data. Retention follows the life of the account, the author’s product period, and any longer period required to keep payment records or handle a dispute.

8. Your options

You may request information about processing, ask for correction or deletion, withdraw consent where consent is required, and object to marketing. Write to info@ednice.com. We respond within a reasonable time. This does not limit any rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

9. Changes

The current version is always on this page. Material changes are published here; dashboard users may receive a notice or be asked to review again when needed.
